About Dozefan
Dozefan is a sleep-sound app for parents — fan sounds and white noise generated live on the phone, with a sleep timer that fades out and a simple volume guide. It is made by Andrew Boyko, an independent developer in Ukraine who builds the app and writes these guides.
What we believe
- Quiet beats clever. Sound for a baby should be low, far away and on a timer. The app and every guide push in that direction.
- No ads, no account, no tracking. Usage statistics are optional and off until you say yes (see the privacy policy).
- Honest claims. Dozefan is not a medical device and does not promise better sleep. We write “may help” and “many parents”, not “guaranteed”.
How we write the guides
- Health-related statements come from sources we link at the bottom of each article — for example the 2014 Pediatrics study of infant sleep machines, Children's National Hospital and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
- Practical tips (routines, timers, placement) are labelled as such and kept general.
- The author is a developer and a parent, not a medical professional. Always ask your paediatrician about your baby's sleep and hearing.
- Each article shows when it was last updated. Found a mistake? Write to andrew@andrewboyko.name and we will fix it and note the correction.
